The M.U.L.E. 500 is the most efficient way to carry your water and gear and it can now be attached directly to the back of your body armor by using the Open Gate Keeper Clips of the Direct Armor Attachment System (D.A.A.S.)

500 Denier Cordura

500 denier Cordura is a nylon-based material that uses domestically spun Invista yarn and is ideal for products that need to be durable and lightweight. This fabric of choice for the IOTV, MTV and the OTV has a tighter weave and is 35% lighter (per sq meter) with the same weight to strength ratio as 1000D. Exceeds MIL-C-43734D for breaking strength, tear resistance, dimensional stability, Infrared Reflectance (dependent on pattern), and resistance.

Direct Armor Attachment System (D.A.A.S)

The Direct Armor Attachment System (D.A.A.S.) is designed to attach directly to the back of the IOTV, MTV, or any newer vest that provides MOLLE Webbing on the back without interfering with any of the rapid removal mechanisms. It is the quickest and easiest way to attach directly to your armor. You will no longer need to MOLLE or Zip Tie your hydration carrier to your armor. The D.A.A.S. uses various clips and a Quick Attach Pressure Straps to achieve the end goal. The clips are selected and placed depending on the functional need, weight, and overall capabilities of the pack itself.

Open Gate Keeper

Designed by CamelBak and available exclusively on the M.U.L.E. 500; the Open Gate Keeper features a spring-activated powder coated metal closure that securely attaches the pack to the vest. With a breaking strength of over 120 lbs, this clip is designed to handle the heavier loads.
